Customer Spotlight: Warwick's
Over the next few months, we’re featuring conversations with some of our favorite customers. Starting in our own backyard, Warwick’s is an independent bookstore located in La Jolla, CA. It's the oldest family-owned bookstore in the United States! Founded in Minnesota in 1899, the store offers books, art supplies, stationary, cards and gifts.
The Warwick family relocated the store to sunny Southern California around 1921 and are its owners and operators. Warwick’s carries a vast, yet curated, selection of books and boasts an exceptional calendar of author events. Plus, it’s brimming with beautiful and unusual items that you won’t find anywhere else. Beloved by locals and tourists alike, people know they can count on Warwick’s for a great book recommendation, last-minute gift or the perfect La Jolla souvenir.
We recently spoke with Joe Porteus, a 20-year veteran of the business and long-time Warwick’s general manager. He noted that their customers love the vintage image paper goods the store offers from Found Image Press. The company’s print-on-demand model allows Warwick’s to offer an entire line of over 100 unique titles featuring vintage images of La Jolla, San Diego, and California, including postcards, notecards, art prints, and calendars.
Joe noted that Found Image Press is a great match for the professional, friendly, casual vibe that Warwick’s is known for. He appreciates the attentive service he receives from Found Image Press and he’s a happy, long-time customer.
