Olivia’s Pick: Forever Fighting Fascism
May 18, 2026
At Found Image Press, we spend a lot of time looking back through history. Some of it is charming, some is strange, and some grabs your attention and refuses to let go. Shipping Goddess, Olivia, selected an image of the month that definitely grabs your attention.
“Nazi Book Burning” features a stark, anti-book-burning message and a chilling historical scene. This image is not subtle, and that is precisely the point. It is a reminder that images do not just preserve the past. They can also cast an accurate spotlight on the present.
What first drew you to this image?
The boldness of the image is what caught my eye. When I first saw it, I just thought it was a cool historical image, but with our current societal and political state, it’s become so much more relevant.

What does this image remind you of, personally?
When I was younger, my dad put my brother and me in a Catholic school. The school was so strict and conservative that they saw Harry Potter as evil. It was ‘banned,’ but you better believe that was not going to stop me. That story was a safe place for a weird young kid.
What do you think this image says about its time period?
It was a time of real power and corruption. However, there were and still are ‘radical’ Americans who won’t stand for it. I am proud to be one of them.
Why do you think this image still resonates today?
I think that books make people actually think. Some of the best and most provocative books are banned not because there is something inherently bad in them, but because they can literally open your eyes to systemic issues that are created to uphold a power imbalance against the people. This image inspires me to delve into some of the books that have made banned lists.

If you could give this image a title, what would it be?
I would call it “Forever Fighting Fascism.”
I would call it “Forever Fighting Fascism.”
There is nothing quaint about this image, and we would not want there to be. We believe historical images can make statements. They can provoke, warn, challenge, and sharpen the conversation. Olivia’s pick is a powerful example of that. It is historical and alive with present-day meaning, reminding us that sometimes the past whispers, and sometimes it yells.
